What an absolutely delightful Valentine's Day celebration we've had! We're still smiling from all the wonderful poetry entries that poured in for our first-ever Valentine's Day competition. From witty coffee-themed love sonnets to heartwarming odes about our community, your creativity and passion shone through in every verse.
The talent and enthusiasm you all showed was truly remarkable, and reading through your entries brought so much joy to our entire café team. We laughed, we were moved, and we were reminded once again of what a special community we have here in Putney.
Before we announce our winners, we want to thank every single person who participated – your poems made this first poetry competition unforgettable. And here's some sweet news: all entrants will receive a voucher to spend at T&T (just pop into the café to collect yours!).
Now, without further ado, let's celebrate our winning poets...
First Place - LOST LOVE by Jack Rice
First Prize goes to Jack Rice, whose poem "Lost Love" captured a poignant experience of love and loss that really resonated with the cafe team. Well done Jack, you can collect your prize at the cafe!

Second Prize - Tried & True by anon
🥈 Second Prize is awarded to anon for "Tried & True" – a playful and clever piece about having a great time in our café - flattery will get you everywhere! I started the cafe back in 2012 precisely to recreate the cafe scene of home and it's fantastic hearing fellow Kiwi's enjoying themselves! Prize is behind the bar anon!

1st Runner Up - Blue by Katie Campbell
🥉 Third Prize goes to anon for the touching "Blue," which transported us to sepia toned memories of falling in love amongst the beauty and history of Europe. Absolutely beautiful. Pop in to T&T to collect your prize!

2nd Runner up - Something of Interest by Anon
And our Fourth Prize winner (who also wished to remain anonymous) captured a beautiful moment in time through "Something of Interest". Maybe it was the promise of spring intertwined with the spark of love that the team enjoyed so much. Your prize is waiting at T&T!

Congratulations to all our winners and to everyone who poured out their heart in our competition! Please stop by the café to collect your prizes and vouchers. We'll be displaying all of the poems in the cafe until the end of February for everyone to enjoy.
Let's raise a cup to love, poetry, and our wonderful community! ☕️
Lots of love Rob & the T&T Team
P.S. There was an issue with our online form so if any of the anonymous entries wish to share their names please let me know.
